Inside Al-Hidayah Center during community prayer

Al-Hidayah Center is a community mosque in southwest Fort Wayne, Indiana, established in 1975 by neighbors who wanted a quiet, welcoming place to pray, raise families, and serve the city around them. For nearly five decades, generations of Fort Wayne Muslims have gathered here.

Our first imam, Imam Saab Saud, led the congregation for roughly four decades — guiding prayers, teaching the Qur’an, and shepherding the community through its formative years. His steady example continues to shape the character of Al-Hidayah today. Today, Imam Mohamed Dwaga leads the congregation, carrying that same tradition of warmth, learning, and service forward.

Today the masjid hosts the five daily prayers, Jumu’ah, weekly halaqas, weekend Islamic school for children, and ongoing community meals. Travelers passing through on I-69 are especially welcome — many of our regulars first walked in between long drives.

Whatever your background, whether you have prayed a thousand times or are simply curious, you will find a friendly face here.
